 Join NGIV and Syngenta Australia as we discuss plant protection.

Scott Matthew will discuss how to make chemical application easier and will cover the following topics:

  • Factors determining biological success of an application of crop protection 

  • Factors that can impact spray application

  • Crop resistance management.

Daniel Docherty will look at a new way of weed control in nurseries, in particular:   

  • Barricade the new pre-emergent herbicide for weed management in nurseries.  

  • Creating efficiencies and productivity.

  • Best practise      

  • When to use and how 

  • Where not use. 

  Following the presentation there will be a Q&A with Syngenta where members will have the opportunity to have any questions relating to plant protection. 

About your Presenters

Scott Matthew , Senior Solutions Development Lead, Syngenta Australia
Scott is the Senior Solutions Development Lead, Horticulture with Syngenta Australia. With 20 + years of experience in horticultural and broad acre agronomy, Scott specialises in pest and disease management in horticultural and broad acre crops, application technology and resistance management strategies, fungicides, insecticides and herbicides.

Daniel Docherty, Group Sales Manager for Turf and Landscape Syngenta Australia & New Zealand.
Daniel has been involved in the turf industry for 25 years, starting out as an apprentice on a golf course.  Daniel has been  at Syngenta for the last 5 years as the national sales manager. Through this experience Daniel has developed a deep understanding of plant health knowledge/biology in which nutrition, water management and chemistry plant protection play an important part. Daniel is passionate about innovation and finding solutions for issues within industries.
 

The presentation will be held onsite at Powerplants Australia, following the presentation guests will be given a guided tour of their facility.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
